Antique Reclaimed Dalle de Bourgogne Limestone
in random sizes x 2.5-3cm (1”-1-1/4”) thickness
History:
Bourgogne, or
Burgundy,
is almost as famous for its stone as its wine. Quarried across the
region from Troyes to Lyon these
attractively coloured beds of rock have been exploited since early
Roman times.
Character:
These sought after floors are reclaimed from old properties
and manoirs from in and around the Burgundy region. With its age and
neutral tones, this stone offers a property an instant period feel.
Its understated character lends the material to designs where the
stone is carried throughout several rooms. Colour varies from light
to dark beige with mid to silvery grey tones.
Usage:
Interior and Exterior.
Notes:
Each selection is a mixture of smooth and worn pieces, which
will vary from batch to batch. As antique floors are thoroughly
cleaned back when being reclaimed, it is necessary to allow a few
months of wear before the antique floor’s original patina starts to
return.
